Our beloved game has grown not only in numbers and popularity, but also in terms of player strength and size. As a result, concussions have become a more regular injury for our players across all levels. Concussion can be a lot more difficult to treat as a parent, coach or player compared to a sprained ankle or broken bone for example. The reason for this is due to the lack of in-depth knowledge of an injury that shows very little physical indicators. So, in an effort to ensure all parents, coaches and players have the the best knowledge and information at hand, the IRFU have launched a new information module for those who wish to educate themselves on concussion.

The IRFU have launched the Concussion Education Module. This module has been developed and launched after recent data has shown that annual reports from the Irish Rugby Injury Surveillance (IRIS) Project have highlighted that concussion is one of the most common injuries across the school and club game. This is an important subject for you to understand and ensure your own/child/players safe participation in the game.

Suttonians RFC would like to encourage all parents, coaches and players to take some time out of their day this week to complete this module. Please use the below link to access the module.
