As we have all experienced over the past 2, almost 3 years, COVID-19 has affected how we socialise within our community. Now, as we see the world begin to return to normality,  Suttonians RFC has decided to launch a community initiative. Suttonians RFC are teaming up with a number of artists over the coming weeks to bring live music to Sutton every Thursday night.

Suttonians RFC will be providing a fun and enjoyable atmosphere in the bar and function room every Thursday from September to November. Live acts will begin from 9pm each Thursday until 11pm. Over the coming weeks we hope to deliver a range of music genres and provide a platform for local artists to play live performances for our community.

The music and arts sector is an industry that was hit particularly hard throughout COVID-19. Musicians lost all opportunities to play in front of live audiences and additionally, we lost any chance of going to live gigs. With this new community initiative, Suttonians RFC are seeking to welcome new members of our local community to Suttonians RFC, but also, provide a platform for musicians to play their music. These events will also offer our current club members and our long-standing supporters from the community a fun and enjoyable occasion to look forward to each Thursday.

This week, we welcome Brian Whittington to Suttonians RFC. Brian is a local artist from Raheny. He plays a mix of ballad and contemporary music. Brian’s unique voice creates a lively and enjoyable atmosphere.

So, beginning this Thursday, come and support our first, “Live Music Thursday”, night in Suttonians RFC. The bar will open at 7pm and music will begin at 9pm. We look forward to seeing all members and their family and friends!
