Today we welcome our Senior Men’s squad back to Ireland after their 4 day tour to Lisbon in Portugal. Our Senior Men’s squad travelled to Lisbon on Thursday, 25th of August 2022. This has been Suttonians RFC Senior squad’s first tour since 2007, when our Senior Men’s team travelled to Poland. The 27 players that travelled to Lisbon were joined by 4 members of the coaching team, 5 additional supporting club members, 4 of our Senior Women's squad members and our 2022/23 Club President, Gerry Cadden. 

During the tour, the squad trained in the impressive CDUL Rugby training facility. On Saturday, the squad trained against the CDUL Senior Men’s squad. CDUL are one of the top Portuguese’s rugby teams competing at the highest level of Portuguese rugby. For the 2021/22 season, CDUL signed ex-Suttonians RFC tighthead prop Oscar Cunningham where he became a crucial member of their senior team. 

After a very successful tour, our Senior Men’s squad return to Sutton today and continue their preparation for the start of the Leinster league.

Next on the agenda for our Senior Men’s squad is a pre-season friendly against Dundalk on Friday, 9th of September. Kick-off for this game will be at 7:30pm.
